2010 Nefarious Cellars Estate Riesling, Columbia Valley, Stone’s Throw Vineyard ($18)
Here, Heather Neff has turned out a top notch Riesling.
From the estate vineyard near Pateros, it shows a brilliant gold color and attractive aromas of pear, peach, apricot, wildflowers, honeysuckle and wet stone. The flavors are bright and vibrant, intermixing stone fruits, citrus, grape skin and alluvial minerals into a penetrating mid palate, followed by notes of grapefruit, lemon peel and almonds and spice (coriander, cardamom) on a vigorous, nearly dry finish. 18.5/20 points.

2010 Nefarious Cellars Estate Viognier, Lake Chelan, Defiance Vineyard ($19)
This Viognier veers toward the delicate, perfumed style rather than the heavily tropical. Pale gold colored, it emits enticing aromas of pear, peach and nectarine, with scents of lilac, honeysuckle and acacia flowers. The white fruit flavors are fresh and lively, imbued with notes of peach pit and minerals. The back picks up tones of grape skin, grapefruit and hazelnuts, followed by a crisp lime-tinged finish. 18+/20 points.
