Nefarious Cellars' 2008 Riesling Stone's Throw Vineyard is light straw-colored with an enticing bouquet of spring flowers, honey, and mineral. Crisp and lively on the palate, this lengthy effort can be enjoyed over the next three years. 88 points. The 2008 Viognier Defiance Vineyard displays an expressive nose of mineral, pit fruits, and baking spices that jump from the glass. Dry, dense, and loaded with fruit, this ripe, savory, lengthy Viognier is built for pleasure. Drink it over the next 3 years. 90 points. The 2008 Consequence is an unlikely blend of 55% Sauvignon BLanc, 40% Aligote, and 5% Viognier. It offers up aromas of citrus, melon, acacia, and white peach that jump from the glass. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate, this richly fruity effort will pair well with Asian cuisine. Drink it over the next 2 years. 89 points. Nefarious Cellars' reds begin with the 2007 Cabernet Franc Weinbau Vineyard. It is dark ruby colored with a complex aromatic array of clove, sage, cinnamon, rosemary and black cherry. Elegant on the palate with plenty of savory fruit, this nicely balanced, concentrated effort will continue to evolve with another 2-3 years of bottle age. It will offer prime drinking from 2011 to 2019. 90 points. The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Riverbend Vineyard offers up a superb nose of toasty oak, mineral, incense, violets, black currant, and blackberry liqueur. On the palate it combines elegance with power, sporting layers of succulent fruit, excellent balance, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. Give it 2-3 years of bottle age and drink it through 2022. 91 points. The 2007 Syrah Estate Defiance Vineyard is a saturated purple color with savory aromas of smoke, bacon, game, sausage, and blueberry. On the palate it is velvety-textured, incipiently complex, and well balanced. It will benefit from 3-4 years in the cellar and drink well through 2022.
